Despite only playing three seasons for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Mark Grace quickly became a fan favorite. Whether it was his stellar defense or his knack for getting a timely hit, Grace always seemed to be in the thick of the action.
While everyone remembers Luis Gonzalez hitting the winning hit in the 2001 World Series, it was Mark Grace who began the Diamondbacks unlikely comeback in Game 7.
After retiring, Grace went to work for the Arizona Diamondbacks as their color announcer during television broadcasts. He brings a unique perspective to the game. With all of these accomplishments Grace seemed a natural to be named among the Diamondbacks Legends.
Beginning that fateful night of July 2, 2010 during the first Diamondbacks Legends race Grace found himself surrounded in controversy. He lost that night as a result of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez throwing a towel at him.
Since that time Grace has continued to struggle during the Legends races. Despite his best efforts there always seems to be something that makes it seem nearly impossible to win.
This site is dedicated to the Diamondbacks Legend Mark Grace. It was built to chronicle the trials he faces every game and hopefully to be there for the rare victories if they ever occur.
The site is written by a guy in Section 132 who like Mark Grace loves baseball and in particular the Arizona Diamondbacks. The writings here attempt to entertain and to document the ups and downs of the Diamondbacks Legends races.
